Are you a Business Executive with a 'roll up your sleeves' attitude? Do you have experience in guiding sales, marketing, and client relationships? Altasciences Preclinical Services is looking for a high-level business development candidates to spearhead a Director role for our Everett location. These candidates will support and promote preclinical and clinical services by identifying, developing, managing, and retaining potential and existing accounts within their assigned areas of New England or San Francisco/Northern California.
Responsibilities:
• Identify opportunities and drive them to execution
• Coordinate client contact with government agencies, biotech/pharmaceutical companies (both prospective and current clients), to market and ensure customer satisfaction with company services
• Respond to client inquiries and provide information including cost estimates and timelines in response to inquiries
• Write routine reports and correspondence in a professional manner
• Work with Business Development management in developing sales and marketing strategy to drive service awards
• Manage multiple opportunities and projects simultaneously
• Possess the capacity to advocate on the client's behalf
• Visit prospective clients and present information regarding the preclinical and clinical capabilities to obtain new business
• Coordinate appointments with clients as needed to expand growth of business
• Perform research via Internet, industry magazine etc., to identify prospective clients
• Travel to various meetings to present company information and generate contacts for prospective business
• Maintain CRM database
• Assist Marketing staff with client requests and literature
• Partner with clients and in-house scientific experts to recommend high quality solutions to a wide range of preclinical study design challenges
• Coordinate internal project teams to support client requests and anticipated business needs
• Work independently with minimal supervision
• Mail all required documentation as requested by clients
• Contribute to developing and executing strategies that will increase the efficiency of the Client Services group by working with fellow group members as a team

Job Requirements


Qualifications:
• Sc. or B.A. with six to ten years related experience and/or training in the biotech, pharmaceutical or CRO industry
• Solid knowledge of the CRO and/or pharmaceutical and biotech industries
• At least 8 years' experience in Business Development in a technical area
• Demonstrated success at managing multiple opportunities and projects simultaneously
• Basic to advanced computer skills
• Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
• Communicates effectively with all levels of individuals throughout the company
• The math skills required include, but are not limited to: the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs
• Continual GLP training
• Will train with senior Account Manager(s) or supervisor on client visits before hosting meetings independently
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time; nationally and internationally
• Demonstrated performance in delivering results
• Brings logical resolutions to conflicting interests and priorities. Regarded as objective, open-minded and an 'out-of-the-box' thinker.
